Her arm was severed in a sword duel with Chaos ;~; but she reattached it with an instrument string, and it looked cool so she decided to keep it ^^

Chaos had disguised herself as Sola (friend of Elle, dual-natured [creation-destruction] goddess associated with suns) and she had convinced Elle that there was a traitor amongst the mortals in the RP, when Luna (Sola's daughter) found out that it was a lie, she went to confront Sola and Elle came along (because Luna was really angry) and "Sola" (Chaos) attempted to kill Luna, so Elle got into a duel with her to protect Luna and the mortals.

Chaos revealed herself as the battle progressed (she couldn't keep up imitating Sola's fighting style) and Elle almost died getting a chance to badly wound Chaos, but the real Sola showed up in the nick of time and drove Chaos off.
